Cynthia Packer, MSW, LICSW has over 25 years of experience as a clinical social worker and was awarded a lifetime achievement award by the National Association of Social Workers in June 2018. She has a strong commitment to respectfully providing culturally sensitive strength- based services in community settings. Cynthia currently provides diagnostic assessments and clinical supervision to interns, clinical trainees and mental health practitioners and professionals. Her clinical work includes individual and family therapy as well as crisis intervention services to adults, youth and children. She has extensive training and experience in working with children and youth with attachment issues and adoption/foster care related issues as well as with adults with mental health issues. Her work includes trauma focused therapeutic approaches and DBT. Much of her work has focused on working with youth with serious emotional disturbances and their families. Cynthia’s experience includes work in community agencies, counties as well as the state where she was the clinical coordinator for an intensive therapeutic foster care program for 14 years. She has provided workshops and training locally and nationally on a variety of topics pertaining to mental health and trauma.
